Sherlyn's trip to Pangkor

Venue : Pangkor Island, Malaysia.

The trip to Pangkor was a 2 day event. the whole group of 9 pax boardthe bus on Friday night, reached Lumut on Sat morning 4.30am, sat by thebus terminal, and played UNO till 6.30am. After breakfast, they head forthe first ferry to the Island. The boys continued with their UNO sessionin the ferry...yupe, laid a piece of Newspaper on the floor(in themiddle of the walkway) and continued their foursome session...heheh..therest of the group wer just too tired and continued with their sleep attheir own individual corner in the ferry.

Arrived at the Island about 50mins later, of course, being the only ladyin the team, Sherlyn was assigned to do the negotiation with the vandriver for a better fare to the resort that they were staying, aftermuch negotiations and arguments with a bunch of MEN, they settle for20.00, of course it could have been cheaper if one of the MACHO manactually stood up and demanded for 15.00.. but anyways, all agreed withthat fare and off they go.

The resort - the Rimba Pangkor Camp---its a nice and quiet place whereall the chalets were build in between big trees....there are only about12 chalets, all are spaciously separated, and the ones for the groupwere facing the beach...So since there were 9 in the group, 3 to a roomit is. Out of 3 chalets, 1 was wodden build, it looked like ahut, everything was made of wood, really close to nature where there areno heater, no tv, no luxury nice mattress and an old unit ofAir-condition as compared to the other 2 unit (brick house with niceair-cond, nice heater, nice tiles flooring, nice tv, nicemattress)...Sherlyn picked the wooden one as no one wanted to be inthere and 2 other nice charming arabian guys volunteered themselves, sosweet of them...eventhough the place is a little too simple and basic, its nice to feel close to nature...... they could hear the sound of thebirds all over the place...even in the toilet, one of the window panewas broken, one could enjoy the sound and scenery of the nature whilebathing...hehehe...of course lah, no peeping TOM.

Being used to the normal huzzle buzzle corporate world, all were lost asthey were not used to the isolation as there was no reception in theirmobile, so no one could call out or receive any calls at all.... therewere a moment of panic, but everyone settle and accepted the fact somehow.

6 of the group went to the beach in the morning upon arrival and some ofthe boys head to bed to continue with their slumber sleep. 2 daredevils,Ong and Ian wanted the group to dig a hole that is deep enough to burythem in the "standing" position...yupe, they wanted to be buriedstanding. It was quite an impossible task so as the sand was soft and itkept pouring in, its like, digging out 100% and falling back 50 %, soinstead of enjoying the sun, sea and breeze, they were sweating all theway trying to dig a big hole...everyone was panting and taking turns toshuffle out more sand....in between, there were this big gush of wavethat just came and push in all the sand that they had tried so hard tokeep out...hehehe..yeah they knew that they should have dig the holefurther away from the water, but when they started their project, thesea seemed far far away till the tide starts to rise..hehehe this is howlong they took... then they decided to put the 2 victims in sittingposition instead of standing. So they sat in back to back, and the reststarted filling the gap in between.... it was fun, filling them in asthey were making so much noise, "hey keep the sand from getting into myface!!!" "hey, stop stepping on my fingers...it hurts!!" "hey keep thecat away from us", "hey, my shoulder is aching cos the sand is sooooheavy".... hehehe... yupe in between, Aaron tried to lure a kitten(theone u see in the pic) to the buried boys, asking it to wee wee onthem....hehehe.... you should see their face.... anyway, some pictureswere taken, then the tide started to rise fast, water was really comingto them....so they shouted wanting to be pulled out... and errrr.... ofcourse the rest, being such nice beings just walk off for awhilelah...telling them that they had marked the spot where the 2 of them areburied, and will come and pull them out later if no heads could be seenlater. :o) poor boys, being traumatised so much. then with all theirmighty will power, they rose from the sand.. and then the group wentdipping into the ever welcome ocean.... the water was green.... nice andcooling....all swam a little, Ian taught Khairul how to swim, Aarontried to persuade Steven to relax so that he can float....and sherlynwas happy cos she had learnt how to float(finally) all byherself...yipeee...and some sessions of throwing sand and pushing eachother to the sea, they decided to go back

....after bathing it was zzzzzz time, joined the rest in their sleep andwoke up in the afternoon. Had lunch, and back to the beach again...Saddam and Gossai tried to build a sand castle this time. Sherlyn's taskwas to keep the water away from the castle, Sherlynooo = the whiteknight holding the coconut husk trying to dig a big drain in front ofthe castle while the rest were trying to build a 3 layer sand castle....upon completion, the boys, joined by Ian and Aaron went to the seaagain...Sherlyn had to stay out of the water cos she ran out of dryclothes, need to keep whatever she has on dry.... and also to be incharge of holding on to all the other boys' clothes and belonging....

While they were all enjoying themselves at the sea, suddenly Aaronshouted and pointed at the direction far away,...something was comingreally strong... yeah, the wind came and followed by the RAIN.... itcame soooo fast that it was no escape for anyone... the boys ran outfrom the water and shouted, "run for your life"... of course, sherlynwith her short legs, didnt get to go very far and got herself partiallywet... the rest just stop and laughed at each other, "why run, we arealready wet, right?"..hehehe..so they stayed back while sherlyn ran offcovering her head with their clothes, she didnt get really wet afterall, just the boys' shirts..

Shortly after bath, UNO session again, all got hooked on to UNO.... withtheir reverse cards and draw 2, draw, 4 cards, they were fighting amongthemselves. Night fall, and it was BBQ time, all chose to do so by thebeach, but rain came and force all into shelter.. guess what, all wereamazed cos Steven spotted a Flying Fox ... with its baby.... clingingonto the tree...with his ever big torch lights that he carries with himwherever he goes...it was a nice scene, everyone was excited cos thatwas the first time they were seeing such animal. Hearty dinner...withvarieties of seafood. After dinner, sherlyn attempted to go to the beachalone as the boys wanted to continue with their UNO session, afterstaying there for 10 mins, she chickened out as there were a bunch ofguys by the beach, so she decided to turn back and head back to theroom. Her roomies were all ready to sleep (again..they are just a bunchof PIGS)... so no choice lah, she forced them to chat a little and thenzzzzzz again.

Woke up to the sound of a beautiful song sung by the birds, Sherlyn cameout to check and there was this beautiful Magpie singing his mostbeautiful song.... later joined by a couple of Hornbills..... that wasjust nice and refreshing, the sound of the birds brought the calmness ineveryone, with the serenity of the nature, they were lost....in theirown world and dreams. No one spoke of word for a moment.....Sitting atthe balcony, overlooking the sea, enjoying the breeze, and the orchestraperformed by the ocean and birds...there came a mommy cat and the babycat....to the balcony hunger for some affection from Sherlyn who her 2roomies sitting staring with disgust...hehehehe.... trust man withanimals. :op

After breakfast, everyone went on their separate ways to have a piece ofquiet moment by themselves. We meet again by 11.00am, got on to the van, straight to the jetty and back to KL it is.....they didnt go through itsmoothly though, they didnt get their return coach tickets back to KL,so they went searching by ticket counters for the earliest ticket, andsome came back with as late as 6pm; everyone panic, cos they will onlybe able to arrive in KL by 11.00pm if they board that coach... thethoughts of the look on the boss' face, staring at 7 tired staff andcant perform their jobs, they decided to beg for the tickets, and oneboy, with his charm, managed to get the 1pm coach, and to the rescue hedid. Everyone cheered and sighed of relief....board the bus and off they go.
